Two workers are doing maintenance on the exterior walls of a high rise building by using mountaineering ropes and equipment. One is being lower to the mid floor and the other is supporting him on roof top. Somehow the one being lowered got his finger jammed in the equipment and stuck mid way. He can't go up nor go down. SCDF is called for rescue.

Christine hears that Daniel is considering taking care of Lily and warns him not to disappoint her as much as he disappointed her. She also stirs up Rina's interest in Daniel, telling her that Hui Yen still has a thing for Szeto.

Siva rescues a boy who climbed a street lamp and got stuck and seems to like Rina, who tends to an injury of his but Rina only has eyes for Daniel. Szeto and Daniel contemplate the implications of having Christine returning as their Fire Investigation's officer and do not like her findings over the Restaurant Fire. She blames Daniel's station for believing the exaggerated claims of an anonymous caller. Sara gets trapped in a lift and Pang and Janice unwittingly ignore the lift as they find themselves dealing with a thief who poses as a doctor. The thief strikes again at another accident site, stealing a fireman's jacket. Siva tries to stop the thief but fails and gets blamed for incident. He retreats to the bar with Helen, who flirts with him, but he becomes annoyed when he finds out what she is writing about him in her book. Daniel tries to mend bridges with Christine, in the hope that she will not spoil his relationship with Hui Yen.

A pile up on the motorway writes off Siva's new car, but despite being in shock, he single-handedly takes control of the situation while the SCDF services struggle through the traffic to get there. This season starts off with a bang as an elaborate set in a photo shoot collapses and plunges the models into the deadly waters of the harbourside. GURMIT SINGH is CPT Daniel De Souza, an 18-year veteran civil defence officer and OC of Seng Kang Fire Station. He is also DART or Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team, an elite force formed to handle complex rescue and fire fighting incidents such as urban search and rescue, prolonged fire fighting, height and confined space operations, and water rescue.

When spearheading major rescue operations, Daniel possesses the mental and emotional clarity required to plan effectively, as well as the organisational and communication skills to put the plans into action.

If only he displayed such skills when managing his personal life. Still single, Daniel longs to start a family, but has so far been thwarted.

TIMOTHY NGA is LTA Szeto KT, a Rota Commander reporting to Daniel, who despite his devil-may-care demeanor, is no less dedicated to his job. He’s also a HAZMAT specialist, trained in the detection and containment of hazardous chemical and toxins.

MICHELLE CHIA is SSG Yen Hui Yen, a paramedic who must stay clear-headed in crisis situations to be able to treat casualties in shock from excessive blood loss or major injuries and improve their chances of survival and recovery. She is also currently seeing Szeto and happens to be Daniel’s not-so-old flame.

ADAM CHEN is Police CPL Pang Choon Kiat, young gung ho, idealistic, whose enthusiasm exceeds his experience.

ONG AI LENG is Police SGT Janice Szeto, who is more seasoned and cool-headed, and often has to rein Pang in.

CHERYL MILES is SSG Christine Ho, the paramedic whom Daniel is engaged to marry.
